The Marblehead Investor Field School

You've spent a career advancing healthcare. Your capital can too.

The only thing between most healthcare professionals and their first great investment is training nobody ever offered them. What's missing is learnable, and learning hard things is what you do.

The Field School teaches accredited healthcare professionals to invest in private healthcare deals with rigor, discipline, and fiduciary care. Short, tactical, and applied to real deals from week one.

The charter cohort is free.

Who it's for

Doctors, healthcare executives, and healthcare-adjacent professionals who are accredited, curious, and haven't started. The path was unclear and the jargon was alienating, so nobody built the training for someone like you. Until someone did.

Your training transfers

The strongest predictor of angel returns isn't capital or experience. It's domain expertise, and you already have the kind most professional investors are guessing at. The investing half is frameworks and reps. You've mastered harder ones.

You don't need family-office money

'Accredited' is a legal line, and most practicing clinicians cross it on income alone. Fifth-generation rich was never the requirement. What builds a portfolio is discipline: positions sized to what you can afford to lose, paced over years, diversified enough that no single outcome decides your story. That math works at the median salary band of essentially every specialty. We teach you to run it for yours, including when the honest answer is 'not yet.'

Built for this age, and for your calendar

A course and a certificate are meaningless in this market. What counts is the judgment, the tools, peers who double as a sounding board, and real access to experts: an apprenticeship, not a class. Four rules:

Framework-based.

Screen a deal in thirty minutes, read a company like a chart, ask the twenty questions that surface deal-killers. Learn each framework once, use it forever.

Tactical.

Real checklists and scripts, ready for a live deal this week. Every guide drops into your AI assistant.

Action-oriented.

Every unit ends with something you do on a real company. First real screen in week one.

Real value, fast.

Ten minutes per module, one live hour per week, a template you keep every time. Never more than two hours a week, or we built it wrong.

What you leave with

Your own deal-screening system. A diligence toolkit you'll use for decades. A portfolio strategy and first-year plan sized to your actual income. A cohort that speaks your language and doubles as your sounding board. Direct conversations with the investors and operators actually doing this. A seat in a room where real healthcare deals show up.

The standard we teach to

Disciplined, responsible, fiduciary. Size what you can afford to lose, do the diligence hours, manage conflicts openly, say no to most things. And stated plainly, because the trust runs on it: we teach process and judgment. We never promise returns. No honest program does.

How it works

Admission is by application: your background, your circumstances, and what you want out of it. Small cohort, no catch, no card on file, no upsell. The first cohort shapes the program; that's the trade.

The straight answers

What does it cost?

The charter cohort is free. That won't last, and charter members will be taken care of.

Do I need to be rich?

Accredited, which most practicing clinicians are on income alone. Beyond that, discipline beats check size.

Will I see real deals?

Yes, that's part of the point: first as the cases we learn on, over time as opportunities you can choose to pursue. Always opt-in, never public, never pushed, and any Marblehead economic interest is disclosed in writing, every time.

Is this a fund?

No. Joining invests you in nothing and obligates you to nothing. Anyone who wants to go beyond learning raises their own hand.

Is there a credential?

The outcome is capability: a portfolio you built and the judgment to keep building it.

Do I need experience?

No. Most of the cohort has never done a deal. That's the point.

How much time?

Ten minutes a module, one live hour a week, two hours max.

Who's behind it?

Doug Hayes, Marblehead & Company. Twenty years across healthcare startups, health systems, and capital: J.P. Morgan and family-office buy side, 45 companies launched at Blueprint Health, $40M deployed running a health system's venture studio.

More on the background

The charter cohort is forming now.

The gap is learnable. Everything else, you already have.
